Alex Florance
Alex Florance is the founder and driving force behind Florance Electrical. Widely regarded as the hardest working person we know, Alex built the company from the ground up with nothing but determination, grit, and a clear vision for raising the standard of electrical and solar services in the NT.
Courtney Sim-Gully
Courtney Sim-Gully is the co-owner of Florance Electrical, a business she proudly built alongside Alex Florance. A born Territorian, Courtney is the backbone of the company, bringing structure, precision, and reliability to every part of the operation.
Karen
Karen is our brilliant bookkeeper, and truly an amazing one at that! Officially, she’s “part-time,” but anyone who knows her will tell you she’s always working behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly (even though she’ll never admit it!).
Josh
Flying in straight from New Zealand, Josh brings with him a qualified pilot’s background and a down-to-earth, easy-going nature. Having grown up in a family electrical business, he knows exactly what it takes to successfully run one, which is why he slid into the Florance team so seamlessly. As our team scheduler, he’s the first point of call for all our clients, making sure everyone feels looked after from the very start.
Harrison
At Florance Electrical, we’re all about the people who make us who we are and Harrison has been there for it all. Harrison has been with us since the very beginning, joining as our first-ever employee in 2014, fresh from starting his apprenticeship. From that first day, we knew he was something special. What began as a young apprentice eager to learn has turned into over a decade of working with us.
Ben
Ben may be a relatively new face at Florance Electrical, having joined us in 2024 after moving up from Victoria, but from day one, he’s felt like part of the family. He quickly became a standout team member, and it’s easy to see why.
Shaun
Shaun is the kind of apprentice you don’t come across every day, and thank goodness we found him! While he might jokingly claim to be the “fastest, slowest apprentice” we’ve ever had, it’s the care, attention to detail, and commitment to quality that truly sets him apart. You will rarely see Shauny rushing around, but his cool, calm and collected nature helps him constantly get the job done to the absolute highest standards.
Trent
Trent is an absolute machine. Whether he’s on the ground, up on the roof, or anywhere in between, he just gets the job done. Rain, blazing sun, or Darwin’s sticky, humid heat, nothing slows him down. He tackles every task head on, never complains, and consistently delivers work to the highest standard.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Tradespeople
We are a dynamic growing electrical & refrigeration business in Darwin and always on the lookout for focused, motivated and professional tradespeople and apprentices. You will gain new skills and knowledge, performing a range of tasks from maintenance to installations.
- NT electrical A grade licence
- NT driver licence
- Comprehensive toolkit

- Able to train apprentices and work unsupervised

apprentice
You’ll gain the skills and experience you need to finish your apprenticeship and qualify as an Electrical Mechanic (Cert III Electrotechnology). At Florance Electrical, we treat all employees with respect and cultivate a supportive and friendly environment.
